Hurricane & Storm Tree Removal
Hurricane Tree Removal
Hurricanes are a fact of life in Charleston and the surrounding areas. Palmetto Tree Service has extensive experience in removal of trees that have been impacted by major storms. We have worked in the aftermath of Hurricanes Matthew, Charlie, Ivan, Wilma, Katrina, Ike, Sandy, Irene, Florence, and Dorian to name a few. We have also assisted many times with tree service in areas affected by tornadoes and other strong wind conditions in North Charleston and James Island. We also worked the dangerous job of cleaning up damaged trees following the big ice storm in many areas as far as Ladson and Summerville, SC.
Live 5 News Interviewed Palmetto Tree Service on three occasions on site about:
- Tornado Season Preparation as it applies to trees
- The Dangers of Highway Work to tree crews and motorists
- Cleaning Up downed limbs and trees following ice and windstorms
The safe removal of trees that have fallen on Charleston and Mount Pleasant buildings is an evolution requiring experience. The work is best done by a tree service crew with not only the experience, but also the proper equipment in order to minimize further damage to structures or requiring auto repair from a fallen limb.
Another benefit of relying on tree service professionals is that a Certified Arborist may be able to save some of your damaged trees. Our Certified Arborist, Robert Thompson, can evaluate the damage sustained by your trees and offer options for you to choose from.
Some general tips for you before and after storms and hurricanes
1. Quickly attend to your trees that suffer damage.
2. Do not give up on them or write them off. Trees can sustain significant damage and still live. Proper trimming may be the answer to save a portion of the tree.
3. Save what you have. Proper care after damage may limit further damage.
4. Preparation. Maintenance of your trees does two things.
It makes your trees look good.
It helps ensure the trees will have strong and safe structures as they grow. Consider a regular visit from a certified arborist, much like your annual termite inspection. Unfortunately most people tend to let trees mature without planned maintenance. The damage sustained by our next hurricane can be limited to a large degree with proper tree maintenance. A quick free inspection by your arborist will give you ideas on how to proceed.
